Our Client, a Private Family Office are looking for a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for the financial accounting of multiple Jersey registered corporate entities. The role holder’s tasks will span processing of day-to-day financial transactions, preparation of monthly management accounts and statutory financial statements, and involvement in the management of the annual audit.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Manage fixed asset registers ensuring that all capital expenditure is authorised and accounted for in line with group policy

 Manage the sales and purchase ledgers, bookkeeping intercompany, related party and supplier invoices, ensuring that all invoices and expenses are within budget (if applicable) and approved, and the processing of fortnightly supplier payment runs

 Prepare the daily bank account and treasury loan note blotter, and weekly and month end bank reconciliations

 Maintain the day-to-day integrity of the general ledgers, procedures and controls, specifically the intercompany and related party general ledger accounts

 Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information

 Manage the month end process ensuring that the month end timetable and group reporting deadlines are adhered to

 Prepare monthly management accounts, financial resources requirement calculations for the two regulated entities, and financial highlights for inclusion in the quarterly board meeting packs

 Maintain monthly cash flow forecasts ensuring that deposits with group treasury are maximised and that opportunities to manage currency positions between group entities are utilised

 Prepare annual statutory (entity and consolidated) financial statements in accordance with FRS102 “The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Ireland” ensuring that internal and regulatory reporting deadlines are adhered to

 Involvement in the annual audit ensuring adherence to the year end timetable and the prioritisation of auditor’s requests for information and provision of responses to their queries

 Preparation of local and group budgets and forecasts for the Jersey and treasury entities respectively, in conjunction with the Group Management Accounting & Control (“GMAC”) team

 Submission of annual tax returns for all Jersey entities and the preparation of the tax computation for one entity

 Work with the Finance Manager and other team members in optimising the use of the group’s financial management system (Infor SunSystems)

 Perform ad hoc reporting as requested by the Finance Manager and other stakeholders

Strong A levels and degree-level education are desirable

 Recognised accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA) with post qualification experience

 In-depth understanding of FRS102 “The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Ireland”

 Proven track record of successfully working within a family office or professional services environment

 Strong team player with ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues across jurisdictions

 Confident and effective communicator able to work effectively at all levels within an organisation
